By joining forces, Waterco has expanded its core expertise in water and wastewater infrastructure, developer drainage, and flood risk assessment, with additional civil, structural and geotechnical engineering.

Our team consists of engineers, environmental scientists, and project managers, each playing an active role within the industry to shape a more sustainable environment. Peter has over 40 years of experience in civil engineering, project management and has been Chartered since 1979 (ICE) and 1984 (CIWEM). Peter has quietly guided and expanded Waterco Datrys to the successful consultancy it is today.
Specialising in the water sector, Peter’s projects include: major waterway diversion schemes, tunnels, thrust bores, road drainage, sewerage schemes, flood risk assessments and surface water management. He has prepared, supervised and adjudicated civil engineering contracts at all stages, from tender preparation to final account settlement. Peter is also called upon as an expert witness at Public Inquiries.
Working with all teams across the business, Pedr helps develop and promote the company’s vision. Responsible for day to day business operations, business planning, commercial decisions, performance reporting and business development, Pedr’s role is to ensure that Waterco Datrys’ strategy continues to deliver growth within an enjoyable and professional environment.
Pedr is in regular communication with our clients keeping them up to speed with contract progress, ensuring that they are receiving a high quality service and that Waterco Datrys is, in turn, continuously improving what it does.
Rachel oversees the company’s admin and financial administration, HR functions, and business systems. As a key member of the Management Team, she plays a central role in ensuring the business operates efficiently, compliantly and in line with best practice. Rachel provides strategic oversight and guidance, working closely with colleagues at all levels to foster a professional, positive, and well-organised working environment that underpins Waterco Datrys’ continued development and success.
Mike leads Risk Management and Professional Development to ensure technical excellence in Water and Flood Resilience, also acting as Expert Witness in flooding and drainage cases. A Fellow of both ICE and CIWEM, he brings over 37 years’ experience across the public and private sectors, having led multidisciplinary flood and drainage teams throughout his career.
A Chartered Civil Engineer, Chartered Environmentalist and Chartered Water & Environmental Manager, he is an Incorporated Member of the Association for Project Safety is an ICE Health & Safety Registrant sitting on the UCE’s Health and Safety Forum Working Group. Mike serves on the Welsh Government’s Flood and Coastal Erosion Committee, CIWEM’s Rivers and Coastal Group, and the CIWEM’s FCERM Specialist Panel advising on national policy. He is an active ICE North Wales committee member and a sessional lecturer in water and environmental engineering. As a mentor and STEM/Construction Ambassador, he is committed to developing future professionals and advancing climate‑resilient infrastructure.
Nigel is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 30 years’ experience in the delivery of complex civil and environmental engineering projects. His expertise includes land drainage, fluvial and river engineering, flood risk management, coastal protection, sewerage infrastructure and SuDS design. He has been the lead designer on a number of major flood risk management schemes, providing technical leadership from concept through to delivery.
He has a thorough understanding of statutory consenting and approval processes, enabling projects to progress efficiently from feasibility and detailed design through to construction. Nigel also brings significant site-based experience, including the supervision of drainage and infrastructure works, and holds NEBOSH qualifications in construction health and safety. Nigel has acted as CDM advisor for projects when appointed as Principal Designer or Designer in accordance with CDM 2015, providing clear and practical advice to ensure compliance, effective risk management and successful project outcomes.
Laura is a Chartered Water and Environmental Manager with over 15 years’ experience in flood risk management, project/programme management, hydraulic modelling and hydrology. Laura leads the flood alleviation design, nature-based solutions design, hydrology / hydraulic modelling and environmental assessments teams.
Laura provides strategic direction and technical guidance to the teams to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality projects across both the public and private sector, ensuring reliable delivery and exceptional standards. Working closely with many lead local flood authorities Laura also programme/project manages a variety of scale flood alleviation projects including a range of innovative nature-based and hard engineering solutions.
Chris brings extensive experience delivering complex, multi-disciplinary water and infrastructure projects across the construction, utilities, and energy sectors. In his role as Director of Utility Design Services, he leads the company’s potable water, wastewater, and structural design teams, ensuring technical excellence and integrated design solutions across all project stages.
He provides both strategic direction and hands-on technical guidance, supporting clients in achieving efficient, sustainable, and compliant infrastructure outcomes. With a strong focus on innovation, quality, and collaboration, Chris is committed to advancing Waterco Datrys’ reputation as a trusted partner in utility design and engineering.
Josh brings 30 years’ expertise leading detailed designs for industrial, residential, commercial, and marine projects. Skilled in both new builds and refurbishments, he excels at managing complex projects of all sizes and materials, consistently delivering innovative solutions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and driving successful outcomes for clients. Since the merger of Waterco and Datrys in January 2025, he is currently a director at the Caernarfon office.
Warren has over 20 years’ experience as a Structural Engineer and has been Chartered since 2014. He specialises in the appraisal of existing structures over all sectors of the business, especially where they are damaged or in need of refurbishment.
Warren also carries out the design of new structures within the industrial, commercial, and residential sectors. Within the water industry, he has extensive experience with the structural design and detailing of hydro-electric projects and water-retaining structures. Since the merger of Waterco and Datrys in January 2025, Warren has been director at the Mold Office, overseeing output and ensuring high-quality project delivery.
Zoë brings extensive leadership and strategic experience to Waterco Datrys, having spent 25 years in senior business and marketing roles across the UK, Europe, and the United States in crop protection, seeds, and biotechnology. She has served on influential boards, including EuropaBio in Brussels, and as Chairman of the Western Plant Health Association in the USA, and has also held non‑executive positions with Natural Resources Wales.
Zoë draws on her expertise in governance, strategic development and stakeholder engagement to support the leadership team and guide long‑term resilience in flood and coastal risk management projects.

Each summer, our team joins the Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water Bikeathon, cycling routes from 10 to 100 miles through the stunning landscapes of North Wales to raise funds for WaterAid and local charities. We also take part in the WaterAid Mountain Challenge and the DragonBoat Race in Liverpool, combining support for important causes with great team‑building experiences.
Since 2012, we have been proud to sponsor Ruthin Rugby Club, which is based in the town where the company is headquartered. Since the 1960s, Ruthin Rugby Club has been one of the premier clubs in North Wales with two senior teams, a ladies team, and a thriving mini and junior section with ages ranging from under 7 to under 19.
