Tarian BS8555 Environmental audit

An Environmental Management System (EMS) provides a structured way for organisations to understand and manage their impact on the environment. It allows environmental performance to be monitored, reviewed and continually improved.

The BS8555 standard, introduced in 2004, supports organisations in building a full EMS through a clear, step‑by‑step process. The standard is divided into five phases, giving organisations the flexibility to progress at a pace that suits their operations. Each phase can be formally recognised once it has been independently inspected and approved.

An effective EMS will:

  • Define environmental responsibilities for all staff
  • Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impacts
  • Reduce the risk of non-compliance with environmental legislation
  • Establish environmental management objectives
  • Encourage continuous improvement

We have maintained the BS8555 accreditation since 2012 and we have once again successfully renewed our BS8555 Environmental Management System accreditation.

Waterco Datrys undergoes an independent audit every year to confirm that our EMS continues to meet the requirements of BS8555 and current environmental legislation. We work throughout the year to meet the objectives set within the system and to ensure we remain compliant for renewal.
